I've dreaded this day for the past 15 years. I had to put Emma down today due to a rather sudden affliction in her heart and lungs. She was quite a character and rightfully deserved all my love and affection. She was the only one who saw me through all the hard times that plagued me: coming out, failed relationships, financial woes and sickness. I could always count on her for unconditional love and comfort. Of all the loves in my life she was the (to quote Sarah McLachlan) "one true thing I know I can believe in."

There will never be any other like her. I hope with all my heart that she forgives me for what I had to do, that she watches over me and will wait for me until I see her again.
